HPE valves are rated 250 bar working pressure and used in underground applications as well as for steel plate descaling in steel mills.
HPE valves are designed to withstand the harsh conditions in South African underground mines where they are exposed to high pressures, a corrosive environment and dirty contaminated water.
Our valves are designed by using the latest SolidWorks computer software, 3D printing technology, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computer Aided Design (CAD – SolidWorks), Mechanical Hydraulic Systems Analysis (HOPSAN), high speed data acquisition and processing (eDAQ + nCode GlyphWorks), transient and steady state fluid network analysis (AFT-Impulse), pipe stress and deflection analysis (Ceasar).
HPE also has the unique facility to dynamically test its valves on a test rig at 140 litres/sec at 130 bar. Static tests are done at 370 bar to verify the integrity of the product.
Materials used on internals on all valves are stainless steel and bronze with the seals and bearings made from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. All valves conform to ANSI B16.34
A unique feature of our valves is the wear resistance on the poppet and seat due to the large contact area and labyrinth type design.
Our valves are built to last the 20 year life expectation dictated by the South African mining industry.
