HPE’s high pressure Safety Isolation Valves incorporate both excess flow shutdown and tight shut-off isolation functions. In the event of an excess flow condition arising, example from a pipe burst, the valve will close automatically. To avoid pressure surges (ie. water hammer), the valve closes in two stages: initially very rapidly to prevent runaway flow, then finally slowly to give a soft shut off. Safe filling, flushing and isolation of pipelines are guaranteed, whether the valve is operated manually or by an actuating cylinder. |
